Full Description

Clark County Indiana is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Payroll Assistant. The person in this full-time position will work with the Clark County Payroll Deputy in the Auditor's Office in Jeffersonville. The usual days and hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Many benefits are provided including medical, dental, vision, PERF, 14 paid holidays and PTO.

The primary duties will be to help process bi-weekly payroll, balance payroll and other accounts and maintain and file employee records. The person in this position will also type minutes of the County Commissioner and County Council meetings, file ordinances and resolutions, assist with employee benefit and other deductions, prepare and send ledgers to each County department and other duties as assigned. A job description is also attached.

Applicants should have excellent organizational skills, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, and have the ability to quickly learn how to use the software payroll system.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. One year of experience in accounting or bookkeeping and some experience with payroll is preferred.
